ABOUT JACOB
NEW LEADERSHIP DELIVERING RESULTS FOR OUR COMMUNITY
Jacob Hammersmith has a proven record of leadership. He understands what selfless service entails. Jacob was raised in the State of Michigan on the family farm. At the age of 20, he enlisted in the US Army as an Infantryman. While serving in the Army, Jacob quickly rose through the ranks and led a team of soldiers in his unit. When stationed in Washington D.C., was part of Operation Noble Eagle and other missions, in the aftermath of the September 11, 2001 terrorist attacks.

Upon being honorably discharged from the Army, Jacob moved to Texas and began pursuing his goal of attaining his Bachelors in Information Technology using his GI Bill, specializing in cybersecurity and computer forensics. Jacob believes in life-long education, and pursued his Masters in Information Assurance after completing his Bachelors degree. He has worked in the IT and cybersecurity field for over 15 years. Jacob is currently the Chief Information Security Officer for a state-wide healthcare company.
Jacob also has an entrepreneurial spirit, and is the founder of an IT and cybersecurity consulting business, working with clients to defend against physical and cyber threats.
Jacob has been a proud resident of Manor since 2011. As a volunteer in the Manor Citizen's Police Academy, he learned about their community outreach approach to policing and keeping our community safe. Jacob is also a commissioner on the Planning and Zoning Commission for the City of Manor.
Jacob has witnessed tremendous growth in Manor over the years. If elected, he would work with business owners and local and state officials to develop more job opportunities for the City of Manor, lower taxes so residents can keep the fruits of their labor, and work with school and other officials to maintain the safety and security of public spaces and schools.
